It’s Academic Signs Saudi School Agreement
(Vancouver, British Columbia) It’s Academic Educational Staffing, Canada’s leading academic placement service, announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Advanced Generational School in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The school offers a Canadian-based curriculum to students and is seeking provincial accreditation from British Columbia. “We’re very excited about this opportunity,” stated John Becker, It’s Academic’s Managing Director. “Many of our certified candidates can work in another culture, and engage foreign-based students on a one-to-one basis.”
“Our task is to develop a recruitment strategy to meet the staffing needs of the Advanced Generational School in Jeddah.” Becker will meet with the school’s director, Mr. Abdul-Aziz Ghailan, in January, 2010 to more clearly define the school’s staffing objectives . “Our firm takes a hands-on approach with overseas placements like this. Quality staffing is critical to organizations like the Jeddah school, and securing Canadian provincially-certified teachers is mandatory to meet British Columbia accreditation standards.”
Becker and his staff have agreed to consult with Mr. Adul-Aziz Ghailan and the school’s search committee to ensure the placements are properly vetted and prepared for a new cultural experience.
Becker worked closely with It’s Academic’s Director of Recruiting and Business Development , Ann Naymie, to determine the most effective means of providing numerous candidates for overseas placements. “We recognize that part of our task is to prepare candidates for a new cultural experience,” Ms. Naymie explained in a recent telephone interview. “We’ve worked closely with Mr. Ghailan to more clearly define the characteristics of ‘ideal’ candidates for classroom teachers working in Saudi Arabia,” Ms. Naymie stated. “It’s essential that our placements understand the cultural differences they’re certain to encounter working in a school in the Middle East.”
It’s Academic maintains a proprietary database of candidates seeking employment in North America and overseas. Mr. Becker described the recruitment process. “Our initial, national search produced more than 1,000 candidates. From this initial list our rigorous vetting process reduced this group to 20 of the most-qualified candidates for potential placement in Saudi Arabia.”
During Becker’s consultations with the Jeddah-based school in January, 2010, a closer examination of candidates will be undertaken. “The final 20 candidates are all accredited elementary school teachers in Canada,” Mr. Becker explained, “and we’re certain that the final list of candidates developed for the school’s search committee will adapt well to teaching in a different culture and society.”
