Job Overview: Short term positions available this summer in Mississauga at a well-run and established youth program. This position involves teaching ESL to youth ages 7 to 17, being involved in evening activities such as talent shows, baseball games, treasure hunts, etc and helping international students adjust to Canadian culture. This is a great position for teachers who are free from June 28th to August 8th and love to be around international students. This is a live-in position.

Benefits: Live-in teachers will be paid $3,000 to $4,000 depending on experience in total for the duration of the program. A private room on campus with a shared bathroom and three meals a day are also provided. Working at a summer program for international students is an experience like no other. Qualifications: Bachelor of Education or a degree with a TESL certification and at least two years teaching experience. International teaching experience and experience working at a summer program are definite assets. Most importantly, teachers must have a passion for this type of work, the energy to be with students for a full day, five days a week, even in the evenings.

Additional Details: Teachers will be responsible for teaching ESL 15 to 20 hours per week and assisting with regular camp activities according to the needs of the camp. Essentially, this is a twelve hour working day, six days a week, with a four-hour block for prep and down-time. ESL classes are taught with a combination of textbook work, communicative activities and games. Each live-in teacher will be involved in the summer camp activities and responsible for hallway patrol once a week during the evenings.
