Job Overview: Our client, a Grade 1-12 international school providing a unique educational experience, requires a middle school physical education teacher for the 2017/2018 academic year. Candidates must have their state/provincial teaching license and at least five years’ experience teaching physical education and health sciences to high school students and must also be able to teach a high school elective course. Teachers should be prepared to utilize elements of American Progressive Education including an inquiry based approach with a focus on learning outcomes during all phases of student engagement, instruction and classroom organization. This individual must be willing to work with other staff members as well as parents.

Benefits: Competitive salary for teachers ($33,000 to $50,000 USD) depending on qualifications and experience, with incremental raises each year; 5,500 RMB accommodation allowance per month; 10,000 RMB settling allowance upon arrival; flight allowance; orientation and training; ongoing professional development in a progressive teaching environment; some benefits for dependents are also provided.

Qualifications: Certified Physical Education teacher; five years’ experience teaching physical education; at least two years’ experience teaching an elective subject; knowledge and experience with inquiry based instruction with a focus on learning outcomes; experience working effectively with high school school students; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interest in living and working in China; native English proficiency (prefer native speaker from North America).
